A leader. A strategist. A showrunner. LaVita Gardner is a savvy businesswoman and community leader who has built a career creating memorable campaigns and experiences for leading national brands and public figures.
Born with a natural curiosity about the interdependence between community, government and business, Gardner’s personal mission statement is, “to build, lead, create opportunities and make a difference in the lives of others.”
LaVita Gardner, an expert in sustainable business growth, public relations, public policy and stakeholder management, is the CEO and founder of The Experience Architect. An expert in strategic communications and customer experience management, she reengineered her business in 2020, after more than a decade providing unique and memorable customer experiences and impactful media features for business and government clients.
Under her leadership, The Experience Architect, a women owned and operated Minority Business Enterprise with the U.S. Department of Transportation, has created impactful strategies and experiences for government and private sector entities like the U.S. Department of Commerce, Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), and professional organizations that include the Augustus F. Hawkins Foundation and initiatives funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
With a passion for finance and wealth building, LaVita uses her analytical mind to guide clients in undertaking business development opportunities and helps them find cost-efficient ways to execute communications and marketing campaigns that reach their community.
Fully invested into her business and community, LaVita has been recognized as a Top 40 Under 40 in Business by the PGC Social Innovation Fund and is a Black Wall Street Award honoree, a recognition that highlights successful Black vendors on contract with the Maryland Department of Transportation Administration’s Aviation Administration. Selected as a Maryland At-Large Delegate for Joe Biden for President, Gardner made history in August 2020, when she and her fellow delegates participated in the first ever virtual presidential convention.
Committed to public service, LaVita is active in her community, most notably as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Order of the Eastern Star, Order of the Golden Circle, and Continental Societies, Inc. She is the board vice-chair of the Maryland Diaper Bank, editorial board member for the Augustus F. Hawkins Foundation, and founding member of the Charles County Section of the National Council of Negro Women.
A native of the Greater Washington, DC area, LaVita received her Bachelor of Science in Communications Studies from Morgan State University and her Master of Science in Public Administration, Policy and Management from Bowie State University. Dedicated to her craft, Gardner received her Project Management Professional certification from Project Management Institute and Certified Meeting Professional certification through the Convention Industry Council. She is currently completing coursework at the London School of Economics in Business, International Relations, and the Political Economy.
